As of yesterday, May 15th, according to the Department of Environment, Climate Change & Emergency Management (DECEM) from NOAA National Weather Service Forecast in Guam, periods of showers, thunderstorms, locally heavy rainfall, and some gust winds are expected across Yap proper and the outer islands of Yap. Meanwhile, the American GFS model suggests potential cyclone development between Yap and Guam in the early coming week, alongside a tropical disturbance moving west-northwest near Palau and Yap. With these diverging forecasts, Yap residents are advised to remain vigilant and monitor updates closely.
