Yap, FSM – The Yap State Comprehensive Cancer Control Program has been awarded the 2024 Community Impact Award (Chronic Disease Unit) by the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD). This prestigious honor recognizes the program's significant contributions to chronic disease prevention and control in the community. Nominated by members of the Pacific Cancer Programs, Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, John A. Burns School of Medicine at the University of Hawai’i, the award highlights the team's dedication to improving public health outcomes in Yap.
The award will be announced during NACDD’s 2024 Annual Business Meeting on September 17, 2024. The recognition underscores the program's impact in promoting health and preventing disease, with the award set to be featured in an article on the NACDD website.
