Toraq, Yinuf- On Friday, April 12th, 2024, the College of Micronesia-FSM (COM-FSM) Yap Campus held its annual career fair day event, a tradition that has been going on for about a decade. The event began at 8:30 am and ended at 1:00 pm. A total of 378 attendees, including students from 15 visiting schools such as Gagil, Gilman, and Fanif Community Schools, SDA, Yap Homeschool, YICS, and 67 COM-FSM students, 14 visitors, and 23 agencies from the Yap State Government and private sectors, participated in the event.

The college collaborated with 23 government agencies, local businesses, and organizations to align their programs with the employment opportunities and manpower needs of Yap State. During the career fair day, agency representatives interacted with attendees, providing detailed information about their organizations, job openings, and required qualifications. Visitors received informative brochures, pamphlets, and promotional materials highlighting career paths and internship opportunities. Participants had one-on-one conversations with agency representatives to discuss career opportunities. The main objective of the career fair day was to promote the college's programs and showcase the types of careers available as presented by the partnered agencies.

COM provided refreshments to accommodate all the students and visitors participating in the event. Additionally, vendors sold a variety of refreshments, including fresh coconut, desserts, take-out, and more, at a reasonable price for the young students.
