Yap, FSM – The progress of digital technology and the widespread use of the internet have created opportunities for communication and education as well as social interactions. With these advances, it is easy for people to communicate including cyberbullying, a form of harassment or bullying that occurs through electronic means such as social media, or online platforms, which can have serious emotional, psychological, and social consequences for individuals, particularly our youth.
Cyberbullying gives people the authority to do certain things such as spreading hurtful rumors, messages, or images that can deeply affect a person’s well-being and sense of safety.
Increasing awareness and education are key to preventing cyberbullying, providing support for victims, and creating a safer, more inclusive online environment for all residents of Yap State.
