Yap, FSM - In preparation for the annual 54th Yap Day Celebration hosted in Makiy, Gagil, on February 29th and March 1st, 2024, the Yap Day Committee was allocated an amount of $28,283.00 by the 10th Yaps State Legislature, to fund activities and programs related to the 2024 Yap Day celebration stated in Bill No.11-64, section 1.
The allocation is in accordance with the Yap Day Committee submitted budget, which is pursuant to duties required under Section 802, Yap Day, part (e), which stipulates that “The Committee shall promote and encourage activities, which recognize and represent the traditions of the people of the State, supervise activities conducted on and in behalf of Yap Day…. recognizing and representing the traditions of the people of the State….”
