Yap, FSM – The month of December is truly a time of joy and merriment, and the Yap Visitors Bureau, in collaboration with the vibrant Filipino community, is delighted to announce the commencement of the enchanting Christmas Night Lighting celebration in Yap. Since Monday, December 18, 2023, locals and visitors alike have been reveling in the dazzling display of lights, spreading the infectious holiday spirit across the island.
The Yap Visitors Bureau, dedicated to showcasing the rich heritage and cultural diversity of Yap, has partnered with the dynamic Filipino community to create a one-of-a-kind Christmas spectacle that captures the hearts of all who witness it. With their exceptional creativity, the Filipino community has transformed the Yap living History Museum into a mesmerizing winter wonderland, illuminating the place with an array of vibrant colors and holiday cheer.
As a special treat for all the little ones, the iconic Yap Living History Museum will be graced by the
presence of Santa Claus himself on Saturday night, December 23, 2023. From 6 pm to 10 pm, children can revel in the magic of meeting Santa Claus, as he distributes candies and captures unforgettable moments through treasured photographs. This heartwarming event is sure to be a delight for the whole family, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Local vendors will be on sight selling drinks and refreshments as well. Both residents and visitors are encouraged to visit the museum, marvel at the breathtaking decorations, and immerse themselves in the contagious holiday spirit that fills the air.
