Yap, FSM – In a recent press release from the Office of the President of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), it was announced that the budget for the FSM National Department of Education (NDOE) Scholarship Program has been fully restored. The program, which supports students pursuing higher education, has seen a significant increase in funding, from $500,000 to $3 million.

Students enrolled in the FSM Scholarship Program will continue to receive their awarded scholarships without interruption, providing vital financial assistance for their education. Additionally, the NDOE is now able to consider new students eligible for the program, opening doors for more aspiring scholars across the nation.

Restoring the funding for the scholarship program has been a top priority for the Simina-Palik administration, reflecting their unwavering commitment to education accessibility in the FSM. The administration remains dedicated to fostering collaboration with all branches and levels of government to address the challenges facing the education sector.

In further efforts to enhance education opportunities, the NDOE will continue to engage with all state Departments of Education to explore the possibility of increasing state scholarships. By working closely with state governments, the aim is to further expand access to education and support the academic pursuits of FSM citizens.

The restoration of funding to the FSM National Department of Education Scholarship Program marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen education in the Federated States of Micronesia. With increased financial support, students across the nation can pursue their educational aspirations and contribute to the future development of their communities and the nation as a whole.
