Guarding the Gateway: FSM National, Yap State Police, and Protocol Performs Battle Drill - Friday, February 23, 2024//DYCA

Airport, Yap – On Friday morning, February 23rd, 2024, the Federated States of Micronesia(FSM) National and Yap State police forces, in collaboration with Protocol led by Department of Youth and Civic Affairs Director Alex Gilfiley, conducted a battle drill at Yap International Airport(YIA). The drill aimed to rehearse the proper procedure for protocol services that will be rendered to the visiting range of dignitaries coming for Yap Day. Representatives of various Embassies in the FSM(e.i. the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, the Embassy of Japan, the Embassy of the United States(U.S.), and the Australian Embassy), the United Nations Micronesia Office, the Association of Pacific Island Legislature (APIL),  including President Surangel Whipps Jr. of the Republic of Palau and his delegation.


These dignitaries, along with their respective delegations, will be taking part in the celebration of the 54th Yap Day held in Makiy, Gagil on February 29th and March 1st, 2024, as well as attend their respective meetings in the State of Yap.
