Colonia, Yap - “At 5:37 am this morning, I woke up to the sound of rain on my roof." said a Colonia town resident. “With curiosity, I ran to look outside and for the first time in a few long months, I saw heavy rain and water filling up the ditches and finding its way to the ocean. While the short heavy rain lasted for a few minutes, I couldn't help to wonder if this could be the beginning of a new season for Yap–a well-needed rainy season,” the resident continued.

As a reminder, Yap is currently facing severe drought, necessitating urgent actions from the public to conserve water and mitigate its impact. Residents are advised to take precautionary measures to reduce water usage, such as fixing leaks and using water-saving appliances. It is imperative to conserve water to ensure the well-being of Yap State’s residents.
