Colonia, Yap — At 10am held at the Legislature Chamber, the Committee of Finance of the 11th Legislature of the State of Yap convened a public hearing, pertaining to Gov. Comm. No. 11-243 on the nomination of Mr. Vitus Foneg for the new Directorship for the Office of Administrative Services(OAS). Attendees present included Governor Charles Chieng, House Speaker Nicholas Figirlaarwon, Vice Speaker Ted Rutun, Floor Leader Terence Fong, Chairman of Finance Committee Pius Talismeise, Director Giltug Joe C. of the Department Public Work & Transportation(DPW&T), and Honorable Governor’s Nominee for Director of OAS Vitus Foneg.
According to Governor Chieng, Mr. Foneg has extensive experience in government and private sectors of Yap State economy, including roles such as former Executive Director for Tomil Resources Conservation Trust(TRCT), former Division Chief of Commerce & Industry at the Department of Resources and Development(R&D), and his currently position as Statistic Specialist IV at the FSM National Statistic Office managing the Yap Branch.
