Yap, FSM – Will Yap’s Fishing Industry Get New Leadership? Find Out at the Public Hearing!
The Committee on Resources, Education, and Development (RED) of the 11th Legislature is set to hold a public hearing this Thursday, October 24, 2024, to review the nomination of Santiago Palemai to the Board of Directors of the Yap Fishing Authority. This hearing, part of the Second Regular Session, will consider Governor’s Communication No. 11-284 and Resolution No. 11-91, which seek to confirm Mr. Palemai's appointment.
The hearing will take place at 1:00 p.m. in the Yap Legislative Chamber, with key witnesses including Governor Charles S. Chieng, officials from Resources & Development, and representatives from the Council of Pilung and the Council of Tamol. The public is encouraged to attend and participate in this important discussion about the future of Yap's fishing industry.
