SLOTS ARE LIMITED: Pacific Partnership Clinics Kick Off Tomorrow with Free Essential Eye Care and Pet Services

Yap, FSM –The Department of Health Services (DHS) is scheduled to host an Eye Clinic, provided by the Pacific Partnership program medical team with support from our local health staff. Starting tomorrow, this clinic will offer essential eye care services to the public over several days.


The Eye Screening Clinic is set at Yap State Hospital and will be held on the following dates:


  • Wednesday, September 4, 2024: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

  • Thursday, September 5, 2024: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

  • Friday, September 6, 2024: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

  • Saturday, September 7, 2024: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

  • Monday, September 9, 2024: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

  • Tuesday, September 10, 2024: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM.


The cost to attend the clinic is $2 per patient. Due to limited availability, the clinic will only accommodate 40 patients per day on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage those needing eye care to arrive early to secure a slot. While waiting, patients will have the opportunity to participate in eye care education sessions. A limited number of free eyeglasses will also be distributed at the clinic.


Also, the Pacific Partnership program medical team will be providing free spay and neuter services for cats and dogs starting this Thursday. This clinic is on a first-come, first-served basis, offering a valuable opportunity for pet owners to have their animals spayed or neutered at no cost.


The Spay and Neuter clinic for cats and dogs will be taking place at Yap Catholic High School on the following dates:


  • Friday, September 6, 2024: 12 PM - 6 PM.

  • Saturday, September 7, 2024: 10 AM - 4 PM.

  • Sunday, September 8, 2024:  10 AM- 4 PM.


We encourage all pet owners to take advantage of this free service to help control the pet population and promote the health and well-being of their animals.
