The WA'AB Community Health Center (WCHC/Department of Health Services) is pleased to announce the annual free cholesterol level test screening for the year 2024. The Screening will include tests for cholesterol, creatinine (kidney), hemoglobin, fasting blood sugar, and hemoglobin A1C.
Age groups eligible for screening:
Individuals aged 35yrs and older (both men & women)
Individuals younger than 35 with obesity and family history of heart disease or diabetes
Screening Schedule for 2024:
MR (Maap/Rumung) CHC site: July 8-12, 2024
Tomil CHC site: July 15-19, 2024
Marbaa (Okaw) CHC site: July 22-26, 2024
Gagil CHC site: July 29 - August 2, 2024
Nimgil CHC site: August 5-9, 2024
Central/Hospital: August 12-16, 2024
Screening time; 5:30am - 7:30am
Sites that are doing the cholesterol screening will close at 3:00pm for the whole week.
Participants are advised to:
Avoid eating, drinking, chewing betelnut, or smoking after 12:00 Midnight on the day before the screening.
Resume normal eating and drinking after the blood test.
knowing your cholesterol level is crucial as high levels can increase the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Understanding your levels allows you to take proactive steps to improve your health and reduce the risk of these conditions.
Transportation is available but you must coordinate with each respective WCHC sites.
