Weather Update for the Weekend and Monday

Yap, FSM - According to the National Weather Service, the weekend will feature partly cloudy skies with a 20% chance of showers. Temperatures will range from lows in the lower 80s to highs in the upper 80s. Coastal conditions on Saturday will include southwest winds at 5 knots, wind waves of 2 feet or less, and an east swell of 3 feet. Head to the beach for some sun and relaxation. The gentle winds and small waves are perfect for a day of swimming or hanging out with friends and family.


On Sunday, the south to southwest winds will continue at 5 knots, with similar wind waves and light swell. This weather is ideal for outdoor activities such as market and enjoying the beach. Swimmers should remain cautious of the east swell and potential for isolated showers.


On Monday, the weather is predicted to be partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of showers. Lows in the lower 80s. Highs in the upper 80s.


The tide schedule for over the weekend till Monday is as follows: 


Saturday –  Low tides: 4:55 am at a height of 2.2ft and 4:57 pm with a height of 1.6ft.  

                 High tide: 11:11 am and 11:30 pm with both reaching its highest peak at 4.6ft.


Sunday–  Low tides: 5:33 am and 5:22 pm both at a height of 2.2ft.  

                 High tide: 11:49 am reaching 4.2ft and 12 am with reaching its highest peak at 4.6ft.


Monday–  Low tides: 6:17 am at a height of 1.9 ft and 5:49 pm with a height of 2.6ft.  

High tide: 12:39 pm reaching a height of 3.9ft and 12:30 pm with reaching its        highest peak at 4.6ft.
