Colonia Yap, February 21, 2024- As the 54th Yap Day Celebration draws near, the Yap Day Committee is diligently finalizing the remaining details for this anticipated event.


This year's program includes demonstrations of traditional practices and activities, such as Basket Weaving, Lei Making, Fish Trap displays, Coconut Rope Making, Traditional Fishing Net Repair, and various local foods grown in Yap State.


Adding an extra layer of excitement, the celebration will host a school competition for grades 1 to 8. This segment will highlight the children's talents in games and traditional dancing, adding a vibrant and youthful energy to the festivities.


The Yap Day Committee is delighted to announce that the complete program for the 54th Yap Day Celebration is available for download on the Yap State website: www.yapstate.gov.fm. Interested individuals can easily access the program by navigating to the website, clicking the sandwich menu, and selecting the Yap Day program from the drop-down menu.
