Yap, FSM – The Eleventh Legislature of the State of Yap convened its 37th session during the Second Regular Session of 2024 yesterday, October 8th, at 2:30 PM. Key agenda items discussed were messages from the Governor, the introduction of a resolution, and both the bill and resolution calendar. The Legislature moved to adopt journals from the previous session on October 7th, 2024, 36th Session Day Journal.
The message from the Governor and introduction of the resolution are as follows:
Gov. Comm. No. 11-287: Governor’s Proclamation of half mast display of the Yap State Flag in Honor of the late President.
Resolution No. 11-92: A RESOLUTION, Establishing an official allowance policy for the Yap State Legislature. ( Introduced by Senator Pius Talimeisei and assigned to Calendar)
Additionally, 2 bills were approved:
Bill No. 11-86, D1: For Second Reading, A BILL FOR AN ACT, To appropriate the sum of $14,486,720 from the Yap State Fiscal Year 2025 Compact Sector financial estimates for the purpose of funding government operations, programs, and projects in the State of Yap during Fiscal Year 2025, and for other purposes.
Bill No. 11-105: For Second Reading, A BILL FOR AN ACT, To amend Yap State Law No. 11-80 by amending the Title and Section 1 for the purpose of appropriating an additional sum of $23,899 from the General Fund of the State of Yap for the purpose of providing further funding to fund the Yap State Fiscal Year 2025 annual budget under local revenues for government operations, program, and projects, and for other purposes.
Lastly, before the meeting was adjourned on the resolution calendar, Resolution No. 11-92 was introduced, establishing an official allowance policy for the Yap State Legislature. This resolution was submitted to the Finance Committee for evaluation.
