Updated: Feb 8, 2024

On Tuesday morning, February 6, 2024, a widespread disruption of internet and cell phone services predominantly linked to FSM Telecommunications Corporations (FSMTC), affected the entire State of Yap. The outage impacted government operations as most government employees were unable to access essential internet connections.

Furthermore, community members faced challenges with ATM transactions at the Bank of Guam and Bank of the FSM including money gram and western union services. According to FSMTC staff, this issue happened due to technical difficulties in the Guam area network. However, by 10pm Tuesday night, most of the connectivity was restored. More details to follow.
