Colonia, Yap – The Yap State Public Service Corporation (YSPSC) Water Plant Division is urging all water users in Colonia and surrounding areas to conserve water due to a significant decrease in reservoir levels. The public can observe the declining water level at the Gitam Rull dam.

At the end of 2024, the dam was overflowing. However, just three months into 2025, a substantial amount of water has been depleted. While some rainfall has occurred, it has not been sufficient to replenish the reservoir.

The YSPSC Water Plant Division is asking residents to be especially mindful of their water usage as we approach the next rainy season. Prudent water conservation practices are essential to ensure an adequate supply for everyone.

For more information, please contact Phillip Chugrad at the YSPSC Water Plant Division at 350-7515 or 350-2181. #water #YSPC #yapgov#conservation #yapstate
