Yap, FSM- The Gender Support Office of the Department of Youth and Civic Affairs (DYCA) would like to inform the general public of the High Commission of Canada in Canberra, Australia commencement of the 2024, calling for applications for the Canda Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). The CFLI aims to support grassroots initiatives that contribute to sustainable development and address local challenges. The funding will focus on the following priority areas:
Human dignity, health, education, and nutrition
Environment & climate action, focusing on adaptation and mitigation and water management.
Gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls
Inclusive governance, including diversity, democracy, human rights, LGBTQ rights and the rule of law.
Peace and security with a focus on conflict prevention and building peace.
Women’s economic rights, decent jobs, and entrepreneurship, investing in the poorest and most vulnerable, and safeguarding economic gains.
Eligible applicants include local non-governmental organizations, community groups, not-for-profit organizations, local academic institutions, and international non-governmental organizations. Projects can receive funding of up to $50,000 Canadian Dollars(CAD), equivalent to approximately $36,810 USD. Successful projects are expected to commence in August 2024 and must be completed by February 25th, 2025.
Interested organizations are required to complete a two-step application process. Firstly, applicants must submit a project concept note of no more than two pages to CNBRACanadaFund@international.gc.ca by March 28th, 2024. Selected applicants will complete a full application and provide a budget for the project in early April.
