Department of Health Services: IT and Primary Health Division to Conduct Outer Island Dispensary Assessment

Yap, FSM – The IT and Primary Health Division at the Department of Health Services is scheduled to embark on a two-week assessment trip to the outer islands, from August 17 to August 31, 2024. This mission aims to evaluate the current conditions of dispensaries across the outer islands, starting in Woleai and continuing onward to Satawal.

The primary objective of this assessment is to identify the existing resources and deficiencies in the dispensaries. The team will assess structural integrity, water and power supplies, and internet connectivity. This evaluation will help determine which facilities are adequately equipped and which require improvements.

The findings from this trip will inform future initiatives to enhance healthcare services and infrastructure in these remote locations, ensuring that all residents have access to essential health services.
