Yap, FM—Press Release: Update on This Week’s Health Cases
This week, a total of 638 patients visited health facilities, with 12 cases showing signs of specific illnesses.
There has been a rise in Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) cases, but the numbers are still below the influenza outbreak level. A total of 10 cases were reported at OPD Main Hospital and Ulithi Health Center in Falalop Ulithi. Most of these patients were diagnosed with general upper respiratory infections, and one case was identified as acute bronchiolitis.
Additionally, OPD Main Hospital reported two cases of Dengue-Like Illness (DLI). One of these cases tested positive for leptospirosis. Health officials continue to monitor the situation closely and encourage the public to take preventive measures, such as handwashing and seeking medical care if symptoms develop.
