Colonia, Yap— The Department of Public Works and Transportation (DPW&T) is pleased to announce the installation of a new paper shredder machine at the public dump site. This machine was donated by the Japan International Cooperation System (JICS), arrived in February 2024, and the DPW&T accepted it on March 17, 2024. This machine is now operational and open for use by the general public.
The new paper shredder is capable of shredding office papers and cardboard, providing a convenient and efficient way to dispose of these materials. DPW&T kindly requests that all users ensure the following before bringing materials to the dump site for shredding:
Remove all staples, paper clips, and any other forms of metal attached to the papers or cardboard.
Ensure that the materials to be shredded are not wet.
We appreciate the community's cooperation in following these guidelines to maintain the functionality of the shredder and to support our efforts in managing waste responsibly.
Thank you for your support and for utilizing this new resource to help keep our community clean.
