Division of Youth Services Engages Youth Through Community Outreach

Yap FM - The Division of Youth Services, together with newly arrived Australian volunteer Josh Braine, conducted a youth outreach activity on October 15, 2026, at the park next to Manta Ray Bay Resort and Yap Divers.
The outreach was held at 3:00 p.m., a time when many students gather at the park after school while waiting to catch their buses home. The location and timing were chosen to provide the division with an opportunity to connect directly with young people during their usual after-school routine.
During the outreach, the Division of Youth Services staff distributed surveys to gather feedback on youth events and activities, particularly those that young people have enjoyed most. The information collected will help the division better understand youth interests and guide the planning of future programs and activities that encourage greater participation and engagement.
The team also introduced the upcoming Youth Trivia Night, scheduled for today, October 16, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Small Business Development Center Conference Room.
Through community outreach efforts such as this, the Division of Youth Services continues to seek input from young people and create opportunities for them to participate in activities that reflect their interests, strengthen connections, and support youth development throughout Yap State.
