Writer: Website Office - DYCAWebsite Office - DYCA

The National Weather Service (NWS) Guam has issued an urgent Drought Information Statement, highlighting the severe and ongoing drought conditions gripping Yap State, encompassing Yap Proper, Ulithi, and Fais, alongside the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), the Republic of Palau (ROP), the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), and the northern Marshall Islands. Exceptional Drought (D4) continues to plague Yap State, while recent heavy showers from Invest 93W over the area provided brief relief, although not accounted for in this week's analysis. The CNMI remains under Extreme Drought (D3). Significant drought impacts persist in Yap State and the northern Marshall Islands, with relief potentially weeks away. The NWS advises vigilant water conservation efforts and encourages the public to stay informed.
