Fresh Catch Update – FV Mathawal arrived in Yap on April 10, 2025 April 15, 2025, /// DYCA PIO

The fishing authority is happy to share that the fishing vessel FV Mathawal Yap arrived on April 10, 2025, morning at 8:00 AM with a great catch of over 1,000 pounds of fresh fish

The catch included:  

60% pelagic fish (like tuna and other open-water species)  

40% bottom fish (caught near the sea floor)

For safety and smooth offloading, the YFA gate was closed during the unloading and reopened once everything was done.

Many customers showed up early to get their hands on the freshest, top-quality fish straight from the boat.
