Yap, FSM Health authorities in Yap have issued an alert due to an increase in diarrheal cases across several health centers. Woleai Health Center reported 4 cases, Ulithi Health Center reported 2, and OPD Main Hospital reported 1. In total, there were 7 cases of diarrhea, 1 case of Dengue-Like Illness (DLI), and 1 case of Influenza-Like Illness (ILI). Lab tests confirmed cases of Chlamydia, Biofire GI Panel Diarrheagenic E. coli/Shigella, and Norovirus. No cases of Acute Fever and Rash, Prolonged Fever, Severe Acute Respiratory Illness, or Unusual Events were reported. Health authorities are closely monitoring the situation and encourage those with symptoms to seek medical attention.
