Yap, FM- The Department of Youth and Civic Affairs will host an event called Sunset in Yap on March 30, 2025, at the Yap Living History Museum in Colonia town. The event will feature traditional dances and cultural activities for the whole family. Enjoy the Nimgil Youth Dance by Gilman Elementary School at 3:30 PM and the Women’s Sitting Dance by the Fanif Community at 7:00 PM. The Department of Youth and Civic Affairs also hosts an Essay Contest with a $100 prize for each winner. The topics are “You Lose Your Language, You Lose Your Identity” (for ages 14-18) and "Strength of a Yapese Woman" (open to all).
