Koror, Palau – The annual Pacific Island Chapter (PIC) and Professional Development Seminar (PDS) took place this year in Koror, Palau. Traditionally held during the summer following the completion of the Upward Bound program, the conference rotates locations each year within the Pacific Island Chapter. Last year, it convened in Hawaii, and it was voted to be held in Palau this year. The next location will be selected by vote among PIC members.

PIC consists of programs from the Marshall Islands, Palau, FSM, Guam, and Hawaii. These include Upward Bound, which is part of the TRIO program funded by the US Department of Education. The conference aims to enhance services for students, improve program quality, and ensure participants are informed about updates and changes in policy and procedures.

Attendees from the College of Micronesia-FSM, Yap Campus, included Upward Bound Director Serphin Ilesiuyalo, Fiscal Officer Rosemary Manna, Upward Bound Academic Coordinator Sarah L. Mooteb, and Upward Bound Administrative Assistant Kimberly Guretmag.
