Power Outage Disrupts Yap: Schools Closed and Repairs Underway After Fallen Pole Incident

Yap, FSM – The Yap State Public Service Corporation (YSPSC) held a scheduled power outage today, September 17th, from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM affecting areas from Public Transportation Service(PTS) to South. The outage is necessary due to an electrical pole that fell near Marine Sport.

A team was on-site throughout the day to secure the area and conduct necessary repairs.

In light of the outage, schools in the affected area will be closed for the day. According to PTS, they had arranged transportation for students to be taken home safely.
