Yap, FSM – On August 1, 2024, a Public Consultation will be held at the Yap Small Business Conference Room, starting at 10:00 am. This consultation was about the World Bank funded rehabilitation project of the twin bridges at Donoch and Taganyal. The event was facilitated by a team from the Project Management Unit (PMU), Department of Communication, Transportation & Infrastructure (DTC&I), and the Pacific Regional Infrastructure Facility (PRIF).

Physical Synopsis
Forecasted Timeline
Drainage Details
Traffic Management Plan
Explanation of the Bridge Construction
Feedback on Impact and Disturbance for Businesses
New Structure
Drainage System and Road Safety
Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions, including concerns about crucial utility lines and boats passing under the bridge during high tide. The objective of this consultation was to gather feedback from the public before construction starts, addressing business, public, and safety concerns, along with safeguard assessments. Government agencies, private businesses, and individuals residing around and nearby the project sites were invited to attend.
