Senator John Masiwemai Resigns from Yap State Legislature, Special Election Planned Tuesday, December 03, 2024, /// DYCA PIO

On November 28, 2024, at 1:55 PM the Governor’s Office received an official communication from Speaker Figirlaarwon on behalf of the 11th Yap State Legislature.


In the Letter He wrote to formally inform the Governor, The honorable Charles S. Chieng of Senator John Masiwemai’s resignation from the legislature due to health reasons. His resignation will take effect on December 31, 2024.


According to Title 7, Section 104(b) of the Yap State Code, a vacancy occurring with one year or more remaining in a term necessitates a special election to fill the seat, in this case, it would be for Election District No. 3.


Therefore, the Yap State Election Office at DYCA wants to inform all eligible voters to update their information at the election office or call 350-6130 or 350-DYCA.
