Urgent Water Conservation Appeal Amidst El Nino Season in Yap Thursday, April 11, 2024// DYCA PIO

Writer: Website Office - DYCAWebsite Office - DYCA

Yap, FSM - Let’s come together as a community to conserve water and navigate through this challenging El Nino season.

As the El Nino season grips Yap State, the Yap’s water authorities, including the Yap State Public Service Corporation(YSPSC) Water Plant, Southern Yap Water Authority(SYWA), and Gagil-Tomil Water Authority(GTWA), are issuing a critical call to action for water conservation. With the duration of this drought uncertain, cooperation and assistance from the community are urgently needed to conserve water resources.

During this period, residents are urged to minimize water usage to essential needs only and report any pipe leaks promptly. Activities that consume large amounts of water, such as car washing and road dust suppression, should be avoided wherever possible. Every drop saved counts in mitigating the impact of the drought on the State of Yap water supply.

(For further information or details on water conservation measures concerned individuals can reach out to the YSPSC Water Plant at (691)350-7515, SYWA at (691)350-2711, or GTWA at (691)350-8945. Thank you)
