Last year in 2023, a section of the western loop road in Kanif, Dalipebinaw experienced a significant roadside collapse, with a quarter of it sliding into a nearby taro patch due to heavy rain. The affected area was promptly blocked off with tape and cones to warn the public of the road damage.
This year, 2024, another segment of the western loop road, specifically in Magaf, Dalipebinaw area, has been identified as compromised. It has been marked and barricaded with tape to indicate the specified area of the road that is compromised.
According to the Department of Public Works and Transportation, they are actively addressing short and long-term solutions to address these major road damages and would like to ask the general public to take precautionary measures while driving on the western loop road.
