Yap, FSM – Office of the Governor issued a Memorandum on this year’s holiday observations.
This month, we observe two consecutive days of holidays in recognition of Yap State Constitution Day and Christmas Day, respectively. The week after these two holidays is the New Year holiday.
For planning purposes, with respect to our observance and celebration of the Christmas/New Year’s holidays and our obligation to stand duty for the State Government, December 24th and 25th and January 1st are declared official holidays.
Therefore, all State Government offices will be closed for business on Friday, December 22, 2023, and Monday, December 25, 2023, in observance of the two holidays this month. For the New Year Holiday observance, all State Government offices will be close on Monday, January 1st, 2024.
The exception for these 3 observation days will be to those whom by nature of their public service mandates must remain operational.
