Abay, Gagil— “Dreams Don’t Die.”- Yap High School Class of 2024 Theme
Yap High School’s 60th Annual Commencement Exercise took place on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the Yap Sports Complex located in Abay, Gagil. The sixty-two graduates were joined by the guest of honor the Honorable Vice President, Aren B. Palik, who was personally and cordially invited by members of the graduating class to be present.

The Honorable Governor of Yap State, Charles Chieng, the Yap State 11th House Speaker, and the Honorable Nicholas Figirlaarwon, Senator John Mafel representing the legislative branch, Father Richard McAuliff, SJ, the Vicar of Yap State and the Director of Yap Catholic High School, the Waab School Administrator, Mr. Charles Yalaarow, the keynote speaker, DYCA Director Mr. Alex Gilfiley; Yap High School Principal, Arnold Y. Ken, and Mr. Serphin Ilesiuyalo, the Upward Bound Program Director.
The graduation ceremony highlighted the academic achievements of students such as class valedictorian, Audrey Yagatinag Thilwey,who was presented with a gift from the Bank of the FSM. The event also acknowledged the top ten students and those on the honor roll. The event included acknowledging the twelve students who participated in the Upward Bound Program and honoring this year’s Yap’s Youth of the Year, Jayvin Peter Maag.
