Yap, FM – On December 17, a special event was held to celebrate the opening of a new quarantine area at Yap International Airport. This project was organized by the focal point team from the Department of Resources and Development to help improve safety for everyone.
The event was attended by many important guests, including Yap State Governor, Honorable Charles S. Chieng, Director of Resources of Development Bernard Gorong, FSM Department of Resources and Development Assistant Secretary Menoleen Jacob-Oswalt, UNDP Representative Aquila Van Keuk, and other leaders and witnesses.
Governor Chieng thanked the R&D team for their collaboration in finishing this important project and highlighted the importance of teamwork in achieving this goal.
Assistant Secretary Jacob-Oswalt and UNDP Representative Van Keuk also spoke, appreciating the new facility and explaining how it will benefit not just the people of Yap but everyone in the region. They expressed excitement for future partnerships to improve health and safety.
