Yap, FSM – The Committee on Government, Health, and Welfare (GHW) of the 11th Legislature of the State of Yap has scheduled two Public Hearings. Both public hearings will be held at the Legislative Chamber tomorrow, October 3, 2024.
The first Public Hearing will begin at 10 am regarding Resolution No. 11-87: A Resolution, confirming Sylvester R. Falag to be the Yap State Election Commissioner.
Witnesses are T.H. Governor Charles S. Chieng, nominee Sylvester R. Falag, Chairman of COP or his designee, Chairman of COT or his designee, and DYCA Director Alex Gilfiley.
The next public hearing will start in the afternoon the same day at 1 pm regarding the following bills:
Bill No. 11-98: A BILL FOR AN ACT, to amend Section 401 in Chapter 4 of Title 3 of the Yap State Code, relating to executive salaries, and for other purposes.
Bill No. 11-99: A BILL FOR AN ACT, to amend Title 25 of the Yap State Code, Motor Vehicles and Highways, by amending Section 1204, to clarify exceptions to requirements for government vehicle use, and for other purposes.
Witnesses that are expected to be present are T.H Governor Charles S. Chieng, Governor, T.H Lt. Governor Francis Itimai, Senator Mafel, Senator Ramoloilug, Attorney General, Director and Chief of Budget, Chief of Finance and Chief of Procurement and Property Management.
The public is invited and encouraged to share their testimonies after the witnesses have spoken.
