Yap State Governor Chieng Calls Emergency Task Force Meeting

Colonia, Yap - Governor Charles S. Chieng called the first Emergency Task Force meeting at 3 PM on Monday, February 19, 2024, at the Governor’s Office to address the emerging effects of El Nino and the water shortage crisis, which is already affecting the Outer Islands of Yap and subsequently extending to Yap Proper.
The Yap State Government, alongside all water organizations in Yap(e.g. Southern Yap Water System), the International Organization for Migration(IOM), and key cabinet members collaborated to strategize on addressing this pressing issue.
