Yap, FSM –The Department of Youth and Civic Affairs(DYCA), Department of Resources and Development(R&D), and Yap Visitor Bureau(YVB) are joining forces to organize an exciting celebration for World Tuna Day, slated for August 2nd and 3rd, 2024. This collaborative effort aims to highlight the importance of managing tuna fish stocks to maintain sustainability, with DYCA Youth Service Division Chief John Waayn Fillmed as Chairman and R&D Deputy Director Alexander YowBlaaw as Vice Chairman.
Plans are currently being developed to create an engaging program that will highlight Yap's vibrant maritime traditions and commitment to sustainable fishing practices.
